Retractable Range Hood for Ductless Kitchens
Meet the industry’s first range hood designed exclusively for kitchens without external venting. Unlike convertible hoods that struggle in recirculating mode, this solution was engineered from the ground up to deliver quieter performance, improved airflow, and a sleek low-profile design at just 4 inches tall.
Why Choose a Ductless Range Hood?
Many kitchens—especially apartments and smaller homes—lack access to external ducting.
Traditional 'convertible' range hoods are built for ducted systems. When converted to recirculating mode, they become less effective at ventilation while operating at higher noise levels. Through thoughtful design and advanced engineering, Summit has created a quieter, more efficient range hood specifically made for ductless use.

How Does a Summit Recirculating Range Hood Work?
Unlike traditional ductless ventilation, our retractable hood is not convertible, and that’s a good thing. This is the first range hood exclusively designed, constructed, and tested for recirculating use. Converted hoods typically block airflow with a basic baffle, creating noisy, inefficient ventilation. Our design was thoughtfully engineered with a cross-flow fan to utilize laminar airflow, guiding grease and smoke in a quiet, efficient process
Back pressure increases noise, reduces CFM, and directs grease particles in every direction
Cross-flow fan design creates a more effective, efficient, and silent ventilation process over traditional axial fan-based hoods
