Parts Department Specialist

Job Description:

SUMMIT Appliance (, a Division of Felix Storch, Inc. is a 47 year old family business, located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. We specialize in major appliances for smaller kitchens and special markets. We are convenient to public transportation and are close to most major highways. We have modern offices, a business casual dress policy, and an operations driven busy environment. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Respond to Parts inquiries via the phone and email
  • Maintain a balanced inventory of parts
  • Establishes (Min/Max Stock Levels)
  • Supervises all part stock ordering procedures
  • Order parts, research part availability, and completes customer service order
  • Assure that all parts orders are received/shipped out promptly in an accurate manner
  • Monitors daily reports and parts sales activity
  • Look continuously for methods to improve business performance
  • Provide technical assistance to parts department/service employees
  • Ensure that all Parts/Service A/R are properly maintained.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with vendors and clients
  • Develop superb customer relations and maintain a high level of service
  • Other duties as required from time to time by the management

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience on a customer service team, including a strong working knowledge of service processes, policies, and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work on a fast paced environment with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with complex problems.
  • Ability to learn basic troubleshooting techniques for major appliances and some mechanical problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.

Appliance Repair Technician

Job Description:

Position Objective

Handle appliance repairs in the field and provide high level technical support to end consumers for house and commercial appliances. Solutions include but are not limited to, diagnosing, troubleshooting and fixing. Support is provided by clearly communicated technical solutions in a user-friendly, efficient and professional manner.


  • Handle repairs in the field (Refrigerators, Ranges, Combo Laundry, and Freezers).
  • Must have clean and valid driver’s license.
  • Communicate with upper management to provide information in response to inquiries about malfunctioning machines.
  • Research required information, use available resources, facilitate resolution of technology inquiries and problems by isolating variables contributing to the problems, and applying subject matter expertise.
  • Support and adhere to best practices implemented as standard operating procedures or internal team processes.
  • Stay current with system information, new models, parts, changes and updates.
  • On hand repair for in-house projects when needed.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.


  • Technical Diploma or Associates Degree in Electronics or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a technical field.
  • Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in the areas of Technical Support and Customer Service.
