Job Description:

(Note: This position is based in our Bronx, NY office, Monday – Friday, business hours in an effectively spaced office environment)

SUMMIT Appliances (, a Division of Felix Storch, Inc. is a 50 year old private business, located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. We are a manufacturer and distributor of major appliances, including vaccine, healthcare and life science refrigeration. We are adding staff to handle our recent growth, and the anticipated growth from the largest product expansion in our history. We are seeking an individual to join a dynamic 18-person sales and marketing team and help manage key accounts, key product categories and follow up on leads to add to our account base. Some problem solving of customer issues is also part of the job.

Candidates must have at least 5 years of sales experience in either a sales or customer service position. Some capital goods sales experience is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Take several new product categories and help introduce them the proper subset of our existing customers
  • Detail some of the professional and business desks at national retailers we do business with to educate our products’ advantages
  • Undertake account management responsibilities for some new and selected major accounts
  • Develop and implement email and mail programs to increase sales from small and inactive customers
  • Help with inbound calls and emails, quote projects as needed and generally help with our transactional business as needed.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be a quick learner to understand the 3000 products that we sell.
  • Must have excellent email, and telephone skills
  • Must be driven to excellence with good time management skills
  • Must have great computer skills to use our internal systems.
  • Ability to nurture and increase sales at key accounts through persistence, follow-through and demonstrating solutions to their needs.
  • Since many national accounts use EDI – some prior knowledge of Commerce Hub, SPS Commerce, or other EDI systems is a strong plus.
  • Some experience developing a product or customer plan is also a plus

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the sales or customer service areas
  • A two year or 4-year college degree is preferred.
  • Appliance industry or similar experience is not required, but a strong plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Email mastery is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with complex problems.
  • Ability to produce creative ideas to improve customer outreach and sales closing.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google docs, and the ability to create power points and set up and host virtual meetings.
