For over 50 years, Summit® Appliance has been the industry’s answer to what we like to call “space-challenged” kitchens. From urban apartments to hand-crafted tiny houses, our slim-fitting lineup of refrigeration, cooking, and housecare products has brought full appliance functionality to a variety of homes, as well as commercial and institutional environments.
We serve the medical and life science industry through our Accucold® division of purpose-built cold storage solutions, with an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited calibration laboratory on our very own New York premises.
SUMMIT HISTORY
In 1969, Felix Storch founded the Summit® Appliance brand with a goal towards bringing quality appliances to smaller kitchen spaces, later expanding to serve the commercial foodservice industry. The Accucold® brand was incorporated in 2005 to focus on manufacturing purpose-built cold storage solutions for vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and other medical and life science applications.
Since then, we have also introduced new product innovations under our trademarked BeautiFridge®, MOMCUBE®, and PureTherm® brands. 2019 marked FSI’s 50th anniversary of manufacturing innovative, unique, industry-leading appliances. We’re just getting started.
AN AT-HOME TOUCH
New York has always been FSI’s home, inspiring many of our distinct product lines and our focus on smaller appliances with the functionality of larger ones. Our ability to manufacture several product lines at our Bronx facility has made us a ‘Made in NYC’ company. We take pride in our homegrown workforce, with an in-house call center that means your sales, service, and support calls are answered by a dedicated team located in New York.
Additionally, FSI has a history of providing specialized training to further its employees’ growth, providing manufacturing course with subjects ranging from quality control, lean manufacturing, and warehousing.
As FSI has grown, so, too, has our training to include English as a Second Language, six sigma and technical training, business writing, and company-wide training with topics ranging from understanding refrigeration systems to email etiquette.
While FSI’s growth over the past 50 years has been steady, we are still privately owned and managed by the founding family, with a staff that includes veteran and new industry professionals.
ENDLESS INNOVATION
At FSI, innovation is what drives, motivates, and inspires us to create appliance solutions for our customers. Our focus on innovation has led to an extensive line of major appliances with over 600 base models available, including counter-depth refrigerator-freezers, undercounter selections from 6” to 36” wide, and the industry’s largest collection of 32” high ADA compliant undercounter products. Additionally, our specialty appliances provide unique storage solutions for a variety of purposes and environments, from produce and breast milk storage to allergy-free refrigeration.
As a result, we have several trademarked product lines including BeautiFridge®, ColdCavern®. MOMCUBE® and PureTherm®.
Innovation at FSI does not end at creating products because, as consumers ourselves, we understand that one product may not meet the needs of every customer. As a result, we have manufacturing facilities that allow us to customize our product line in both style and function, such as achieving specific temperature ranges for unique food, beverage, and medical applications; changing the exterior appearance of our products to match homes, offices, or institutional settings; or modifying the performance and/or dimensions of products to fit in unusual spaces.
FSI BRANDS
Summit® Appliance offers endless solutions to small kitchen spaces, with slim-fitting refrigeration, cooking, ventilation, dishwashers, and laundry products. Our professional division features the industry's largest selection of built-in undercounter ADA compliant appliances, as well as an extensive lineup of outdoor refrigeration, kegerators, wine cellars, and more.
Summit Commercial® products meet UL and NSF standards for use in foodservice establishments. Our lineup includes a large selection of beverage centers, ice cream freezers and dipping cabinets, kegerators, icemakers, wine cellars, back bar storage, and much more.
Accucold® manufactures an extensive range of equipment purpose-built for pharmaceutical, laboratory, medical, & scientific applications. Our cold storage solutions include vaccine refrigeration, portable refrigerator/freezers, low-temperature freezers, general purpose refrigerators and freezers, break room and ADA compliant refrigeration, and blanket warmers through our PureTherm® division.
GOING GREEN
FSI is deeply committed to environmental sustainability. Both of our U.S. facilities utilize solar energy to help power our production and warehousing, with full recycling on our premises to ensure all waste is responsibly managed. Our product line is always developed with environmental responsibility in mind, both at the domestic and international level. This has helped us manufacture one of the largest selections of ENERGY STAR certified appliances specifically designed for smaller homes.
